National co-funding mechanism

In the Czech Republic, cultural operators (organizers, co-organizers) can apply for a grant in a special programme dedicated to the support of projects supported within the Culture programme (the system functioned also during the implementation of the Culture 2000 programme). The programme is run by the Ministry of Culture and the applicants may obtain various percentage of the amount they have put in the project according to their status:

- The coordinator (ngo): 35%

- The coordinator (profit making organization): 30%

- The co-org (ngo): 25%

- The co-org (profit making organization): 20%

The maximum amout of the grant is 20 000 € per 1 applicant.

It is possible to apply continuously througout the year (no calls for proposals with deadlines). There is a special application form, but not a very difficult one. The minister himself decides on the grantees.

What's the approximate yearly budget of this programme?

2008 – 160.000 € (4 mil. CZK)

2009 – 240.000 € (6 mil. CZK)

2010 – 200 000 € (5 mil. CZK)

2011 – 200 000 € (5 mil. CZK)
